R.I.P. Pop Tarts Suck Toasted

In August of this year Pop Tarts Suck Toasted would have turned five years old, instead it is lying dormant acting as an intro to porn site for folks that can’t find the millions of free porn videos elsewhere. At this point I have resigned myself to this fact. It is the sixth time this year I have had some major issue with the site and at this point I have opted to give up the fight and seek greener pastures.

I’m sure more than a few of you will take umbrage that we are not carrying on in the face of adversity, but the consistent time drain these technical issues have caused, not to mention the tolls taken on my physical and mental stability, seem to merit the end of Pop Tarts Suck Toasted.

I love writing my website. I loved covering music people weren’t listening to. I loved introducing you to bands like The Antlers, Screaming Females, and Dinosaur Feathers. I loved almost every minute I spent posting mp3’s and writing the words that went along with them, and so I’m not going to stop doing those things, I’m just going to stop doing them for Pop Tarts Suck Toasted.

Yesterday Flavorwire was kind enough to publish my first two articles for them and I’m hoping to continue covering music for them as well as a couple of other sources which you should hear about soon enough. Hopefully this will only serve to expand my voice and maybe even earn me a few dollars for my efforts, certainly not enough to get rich off, but enough to further entice me to keep doing it.

I’m gonna keep the Tumblr going for now too, posting quick thoughts on things that are catching my attention and hopefully amusing some of you in the process. It seems like a lot people are catching on to this micro-blogging craze and I have to admit to liking the whole format myself.

I want to thank everyone that has ever stopped by Pop Tarts Suck Toasted from the absolute bottom of my heart. You made all of this possible and I would not have gone as far as I did if it weren’t for you. Hopefully you’ll keep reading what I write even though it won’t be on Pop Tarts anymore. Who knows, maybe the site will resurface somewhere else, but for now it’s time to move on.
